We have all heard the phrase, “Out with old and in with the new”. Well, that’s exactly was is happening in Downtown Kirkland. Some of you driving through Park Place have noticed that most businesses have already closed their doors, and while many may remain closed, one has said they ARE coming back – a Seattle favorite, Purple Cafe and Wine Bar. The closing of these businesses isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though! Why is that, you ask? Because of a project called “Kirkland Urban.” The Kirkland Urban project is the redevelopment of Park Place, that will give a grand new look to the downtown Kirkland area.
This project is expected to break ground in early spring 2016. This first phase of Kirkland Urban will include updating and expanding the size of the old Park Place QFC.
What else is in the future of this project?
-
Approx. 650,000 sq. ft. of Modern Class A design office space that can be custom-made for each individual tenant.
-
300,000 sq. ft. of apartments that offer a Northwest style type of living, with floor to ceiling windows, and contemporary finishes.
-
At the center of it all 210,000 sq. ft. of retail space and entertainment space that will be open around the clock.
