Microsoft is showing a little bit of its envious side. Why might you ask? As of late, other tech giants like Apple, Google, and Amazon have been stealing the show with their new buildings, tech upgrades, and cosmetic appearances…until now! Unlike the other companies which are building in new locations, Microsoft has decided to expand and upgrade its home headquarters. Its home since 1996, the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington is one of the state’s most unique locations neighboring a vibrant urban core, suburban towns, lakes, mountains and miles of forests.
So what will be included in the expansion? 18 brand new buildings, 6.7 million square feet of renovated workspace, $150 million in transportation infrastructure
The project represents a huge investment in the future of the company, its employees, and the Puget Sound community. The project will take five to sevens years to complete and will incorporate 2,500 construction and development jobs.
